Releases

Version: 3.1
Date: 10/8/2014
  • New Features
    1. Visualization Tab allows users to see the measurement results collected by other users.
    2. Graph View of throughput and latency results is added.
Version: 3.0
Date: 30/2/2014
  • New Features
    1. Implemented with Mobilyzer, an open platform for mobile network measurements.
Version: 2.2
Date: 12/19/2013
  • New Features
    1. Added functionality to infer RRC states and measure their effect on performance. This allows us to understand how low-level implementation details may affect performance.

Version: 2.1
Date: 02/21/2013
  • New Features:
    1. Add TCP Throughput task for both uplink and downlink measurement. The task will automatically search for the nearest geo-located M-Lab servers to perform the measurement.
    2. Enable traceroute and ping task over IPv6 network
    3. IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity and domain name resolvability test.
  • Fixed Bugs:
    1. Fix the inaccurate traceroute RTT measurement methodology.
    2. Add timeout for traceroute to prevent task hanging in progress.
    3. Fix the ping measurement stopping issue over IPv6.
  • Notes:
    1. The traceroute RTT results before version 2.1 are invalid due to an improper timing measurement in the application.
    2. If ping fails to run with native ping program, it will use the alternative Java ping or HTTP ping method. Both methods could include overheads, i.e. TCP 3-way handshake, but we are more interested in the relative results that could reflect the network conditions.
